The Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will be played from 30 September to 2 November 2025 in India and Sri Lanka. Eight top women’s cricket teams will fight for the ODI world title.

The tournament follows a round-robin and knockout format, with matches spread across major venues. This World Cup is special for India as the country co-hosts it and also fields a strong squad led by Harmanpreet Kaur. 

Format of the Tournament 

  • Teams: India, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh. 
  • Stage 1 – Round Robin: Each team plays against the other seven once.
  • Stage 2 – Knockouts: The top four qualify for the semi-finals, followed by the final. Final: Scheduled for 2 November, in Navi Mumbai or Colombo depending on results. Venues 

The matches will be played across five stadiums: 

  1. Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati (India) – Opening and key games. 
  2. ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam (India) – Big matches including India vs Australia. 
  3. Holkar Stadium, Indore (India) – Hosts group stage ties. 
  4. DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai (India) – Knockout venue, possibly the final. 
  5. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo (Sri Lanka) – All of Pakistan’s matches and potential knockouts. 

Note: Due to political reasons, all of Pakistan’s games will be held in Colombo. If they qualify for knockouts, those matches will also shift to Sri Lanka.

  • A notable absence is Shafali Verma, who was not selected. This will also be the first ODI World Cup where Harmanpreet Kaur captains India.
