Share Price Movement 

With a market capitalization of Rs. 1,823.69 Crores, the shares of Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited were up by 9.32 percent in the day’s trade touching a day’s high of Rs. 656 per share. The stock reiterated from the day’s high and was trading at Rs. 642.55 which is 7.08 percent higher than the previous closing price of Rs. 600.05 apiece. 

It has delivered a return of 26 percent which has outperformed the Nifty Index in the past year.

What Happened? 

The shares of Antony Waste Handling rose after reports on Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) imposing Solid Waste Management user charges to benefit the company. Recently, the BMC presented a civic budget with an estimated outlay of Rs. 74,427.41 crore for 2025-26. In the budget, the BMC has proposed to introduce the Solid Waste Management User Charges to ensure the financial sustainability of waste management operations. 

Q2YF25 Financial Highlights 

Antony Waste Handling Cell consolidated revenue from operations has declined by 1.33 percent year on year from Rs. 224 crore in Q2FY24 to Rs. 221 crore in Q2FY25 and declined by 2.64 percent quarter on quarter from Rs. 227 crore in Q1FY25. 

The company’s consolidated net profit has declined by 53.12 percent year on year from Rs. 32 crores in Q2FY24 to Rs. 15 crores in Q2FY25. As compared to Q1FY25, the company’s net profit has declined by 28.57 percent quarter on quarter from Rs. 21 crore.

Business Segments, Market Share & Operational Highlights

They recognize their revenue from operations under waste management and allied activities as its sole segment. The company processes around 90 percent of waste generated in Mumbai. The Waste Managed in Q2FY25 stood at approx 1.19 MMT, Compost Sold at approx 4,000 tonnes, and Refuse Derived Fuel Sold at approx 30,500 Tonnes.
