In the recent Union Budget 2025-26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted on the July 2024 Budget initiative in which the government will set up five National Centres of Excellence for skilling, with global expertise and partnerships. These centers equip youth with skills for “Make for India, Make for the World” manufacturing, covering curriculum design, trainer training, skills certification, and periodic reviews.

Over the past decade, the government has added nearly 1.1 lakh UG and PG medical seats, a 130 percent increase. Next year, 10,000 additional medical seats will be added, aiming for 75,000 more in the next 5 years.
