The GIFT Nifty was trading near 26,400 early on Monday. The futures contract based on the benchmark Nifty 50 rose 0.30% at 26,396.5 as of 6:45 a.m. indicating a positive start for the Indian markets.

In the previous session on Monday, the benchmark ended lower. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 78.25 points or 0.30% lower at 26,250.30, while the BSE Sensex closed 322.39 points or 0.38% lower at 85,439.62.
