The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.02% or 5.5 points higher at 25,163.50 as of 6:32 a.m., which implied a positive open for the benchmark Nifty 50 index.

Traders may keep an eye on Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Hyundai Motor India Ltd., and Hindustan Zinc Ltd. shares because of the overnight news flow.

The benchmark equity indices closed higher for third straight session on Friday, after the Reserve Bank of India Monetary Policy Committee slashed the key lending rate by 50 basis point to bring it to 5.5%.
