Stock Market Highlights: Nifty, Sensex End Lower After Topsy-Turvy Trade

Nifty India Defence was the top-performing sectoral index at close, gaining 1.43%. Nifty IT was the worst-performing sectoral index, falling 0.56%. Nifty FMCG, Media, Bank and Financial Services indices also closed lower.
