According to the latest disclosures filed with the stock exchanges, the broadband vertical of Hinduja Global Solutions Limited (HGS), OneOTT Intertainment Ltd. (OIL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Transformation Commission (STC), Government of Uttar Pradesh, for the rollout of Project GANGA (Government Assisted Network for Growth & Advancement), a large-scale digital inclusion initiative in the state.

Project GANGA is designed to support digital inclusion and local entrepreneurship by enabling around 8,000 to 10,000 entrepreneurs at the Nyaya Panchayat level to operate as independent Digital Service Providers (DSPs). These DSPs will deliver high-speed broadband services to households and communities across Uttar Pradesh.

Over the next two to three years, the initiative aims to connect more than 2 million households across the state. It is also expected to create over 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities, including participation from a significant number of women entrepreneurs. The program will support the government’s broader efforts to expand digital education and healthcare access. DSPs participating in the initiative will receive support in areas such as training, financing assistance, network deployment, and technology enablement.

OIL will contribute its operational capabilities to the project with support from HGS and NXTDIGITAL’s existing digital infrastructure network. Together, the companies currently connect over 5 million homes across India and operate across more than 4,500 pin codes in around 1,500 cities and towns, supported by over 15,000 franchise partners and more than 2 lakh kilometres of fibre infrastructure.

Through Project GANGA, the initiative aims to strengthen the digital ecosystem by supporting services such as broadband, IPTV, OTT platforms, CCTV connectivity, satellite internet, and cybersecurity solutions for households, businesses, and public institutions.
