The Noida-based solar EPC firm received the Letter of Award on Monday for a 75 MW/150 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The contract covers the Solapur Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra. This win marks a strong push by the company into the energy storage segment.

The announcement landed on the same day the stock trades on both BSE and NSE. The stock’s 52-week high is ₹388.50, though it has seen a sharp correction of 48% over the past one year. Investors will now watch closely to see if this fresh order provides a fresh upward push to the stock. Currently the stock closed at 143.21 up 0.46% today.

What the Contract Covers

NTPC Limited awarded the EPC package. The project falls under Lot-2 of NTPC’s BESS rollout at its thermal power stations. Solarworld will handle all engineering, procurement, and construction work for the battery storage system. The total order value stands at approximately ₹176.91 crore. The company must complete all facilities within 15 months of the award.

Key Project Details

The project is a domestic contract with no related-party links. Neither the promoters nor any group companies hold any interest in NTPC. The transaction also does not fall under related-party transactions as defined under applicable regulations. The event was officially recorded at 12:45 p.m. IST on March 30, 2026.

Solarworld Energy Solutions had already reported a robust order book of ₹2,600 crore and had outlined plans to expand its BESS operations by FY27.
