  • Oil prices surged 3% after the Trump administration imposed new sanctions on Russia’s two biggest oil firms, citing Moscow’s failure to show “serious commitment” to ending the Ukraine war.
  • The move tightened global supply concerns, boosting crude markets as traders anticipated potential disruptions in Russian exports amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
  • India and the U.S. are reportedly close to finalizing a trade deal, with Washington expected to reduce tariffs on Indian exports from 50% to around 15–16%. In return, India may gradually cut its purchases of Russian oil. The move aims to strengthen economic ties and balance geopolitical interests between the two nations.
  • Meta is laying off around 600 employees from its AI unit to streamline operations and strengthen leadership under Wang. The cuts do not affect TBD Labs, which houses top-tier AI talent recruited this year.   •  Shilchar Technologies: Alchemy Emerging Leaders of Tomorrow, a Category III AIF by Alchemy Capital, bought 90,000 shares (0.78% stake) in Shilchar Technologies at Rs 4,347.43 per share, investing Rs 39.1 crore. Meanwhile, promoter Alay Jitendra Shah sold 1.17 lakh shares (1.02% stake) for Rs 50.89 crore.
  • Silicon Rental Solutions:  Ovata Equity Strategies Master Fund, managed by Hong Kong’s Ovata Capital, sold 1.38 lakh shares (1.2% stake) in Silicon Rental Solutions at Rs 191.11 per share, raising Rs 2.64 crore. The fund previously held 1.9 lakh shares (1.67% stake) as of September 2025.

Brokerage Recommendations

  • UBS on Titan: UBS upgraded Titan to Buy from Neutral, raising the target price to Rs 4,700 from Rs 3,600. The brokerage views the stock as a structural winner, sees manageable lab-grown diamond threats, and expects earnings recovery to lift valuation multiples toward the five-year average.
  • Morgan Stanley on Urban Company: Morgan Stanley initiated coverage of Urban Company with an Underweight rating and Rs 117 target. While growth is steady and supported by a large market, competitive moats, and strong leadership, high churn and supply constraints may limit near-term upside, despite healthy long-term India consumer services growth.
  • Nomura on Tata Steel: Nomura began coverage of Tata Steel with a Buy rating and Rs 215 target, citing strong growth in India, a European turnaround, favourable macro conditions, and potential for sustainable margins. The company is expected to maintain its cost advantage in steel production.
  • Morgan Stanley on Maruti Suzuki India: Morgan Stanley maintained Overweight for Maruti Suzuki India with an Rs 18,360 target. Recovery among first-time buyers, rural demand, new SUV launches, and rising EV exports are expected to boost market share, margins, and pricing, supporting growth through Q3 and Q4 2025.
