  • State-Led Urban Schemes: The Swarnim Jayanti Shaheri Vikas Yojana and New Township Policy aim to encourage sustainable housing, mixed-use urban development and the use of smart infrastructure facilities.

Transport & Connectivity Projects

  • Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train (MAHSR): The 508 km high-speed rail corridor, 348 km of which is in Gujarat, will drastically reduce travel time to less than three hours. Operational portions expected by 2026 will deliver substantial increases in trade, tourism, and connectivity within business and networks.
  • Ahmedabad–Rajkot Semi-High-Speed Rail: The project will halve travel time between two important industrial cities and accelerate regional economic integration.
  • Metro Rail Expansions: Surat and Ahmedabad are adding to their metro systems in order to assist with regional movement. Ahmedabad Metro Phase II will expand to connect Motera with Mahatma Mandir and also GIFT City, while the Surat Metro will connect key urban centres.
  • Expressways & Roads Project: The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, Amritsar–Jamnagar Corridor,  Third Ring Road in Ahmedabad, and Somnath–Dwarka Expressway comprise the extensive corridors.

  • Khavda Renewable Energy Park: Kutch’s 30 GW Khavda Park will be the world’s largest hybrid solar-wind power facility and also show Gujarat’s aspirations to lead India’s clean energy transition.
  • Dholera Solar Park & Green Energy Corridor-III: Dholera Solar Park will complement Khavda. The ₹29,000 crore Green Energy Corridor-III project will replace old transmission networks and help to evacuate renewable power economically across the state.
  • ONGC Jamnagar Refinery & Bioenergy Initiatives: The possible expansion of ONGC’s Jamnagar Refinery includes bioethanol and compressed biogas (CBG) plants that seek to enhance energy security and build rural green entrepreneurship.
  • Gujarat SpaceTech Policy: Gujarat was the first state to have a space infrastructure policy and is also developing a Space Manufacturing Park to encourage tech-oriented economic and natural green growth.

Airports, Industrial Zones & Digital Expansion

  • Dholera International Airport: Located close to the support Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the planned airport is a greenfield project and will have cargo and passenger movements. It will be an integrated logistics and trade hub linked with expressways and industrial corridors.
  • Dahod Locomotive Plant: Under the Make-in-India initiative, the plant will manufacture high-powered electric locomotives for domestic and export markets, strengthening Gujarat’s rail manufacturing base.
  • PCPIR & Info-city: The renewed Petroleum, Chemicals & Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) in Dahej and the new Info-city in Gandhinagar are driving industrialisation.
  • Digital Network Growth: 4G/5G expansion in rural areas across Gujarat has raised digital inclusion and created job opportunities through technology enablement in the rural sector through more PPPs.

Tourism, Water & Environment Projects

  • Tourism Development: Gujarat is making investments in tourism infrastructure at spiritual and heritage tourism sites that include Ambaji, Pavagadh and Maritime Heritage complex at Lothal; coastal tourism projects, and mangrove restoration projects to develop eco-tourism.
  • Bhadbhut Barrage: The Bhadbhut Barrage, built on the Narmada River, is an important water project projecting flood control, regulated flow into the river and urban drinking water supply.
