Infosys American Depository Receipts surged 40%, leading to a brief halt in the trading at the NYSE.
The ADRs peaked to a 52-week high of $27, before brokers the unusual spike that led to the trading being halted temporarily.
After trading resumed, the ADRs pared much of the gains. At 11:08 am EST, the receipts were still up 14% at $21.86.
