Synopsis: Hyundai Motor India Limited posted its highest-ever quarterly domestic sales in Q4 FY2025-26, with volumes up 8.7 percent and March sales rising 6.3 percent. Domestic volumes drove the growth. Supply chain risks and macro headwinds remain on the radar for FY27.

Shares of the automobile manufacturer gained traction after the company reported its highest-ever quarterly domestic sales for the period ending March 2026. The exchange filing brought the BSE-listed company into focus during Wednesday’s trading session.

With a market capitalization of Rs. 1,38,245 crore, Hyundai Motor India Limited was trading at Rs. 1,699 per share, down 4.44 percent from its previous closing price of Rs. 1,778. It trades at a P/E of 24.95.

Quarterly and Monthly Sales Update

Total sales hit 2,08,275 units in the fourth quarter of FY2025-26, up 8.7 percent year on year. Domestic volumes reached an all time quarterly high of 1,66,578 units. Exports grew 9.4 percent to 41,697 units.

For March 2026 alone, domestic sales came in at 55,064 units, the company’s best-ever March since inception. Total monthly sales grew just 2.5 percent, below the quarterly average, but the domestic strength suggests the SUV heavy product mix is holding up under competitive pressure.

Operational Outlook and Product Strategy

Management credited the volume growth to momentum in its core portfolio and recent product updates, including the upgraded Verna and Exter models. Premiumization in the Indian passenger vehicle market has helped the company hold volume leadership in key segments despite inflationary pressures. For FY2026-27, the focus is on connected vehicle technology to sustain market share, though global geopolitical uncertainties could disrupt supply chains.
