With a market capitalisation of Rs. 1,213 cr, the shares of Solarworld Energy Solutions Ltd were trading at Rs. 140 per share, increasing over 4% in today’s trading session, making a high of Rs. 148.75, up from its previous close of Rs. 142.45 per share.
About the order
Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited has informed that it has received a Letter of Award from NTPC Limited for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC project at the Solapur Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra. The contract relates to BESS Implementation at NTPC Thermal Power Stations (Lot-1) with an awarded capacity of 132 MW / 264 MWh.
The project has been awarded on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis and involves setting up a BESS facility at the Solapur plant. The total order value is approximately Rs. 314.26 crore, excluding taxes. The order was awarded by a domestic entity and is classified as a domestic project.
Under the terms of the contract, Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited is required to complete the project within 15 months. The project size of 132 MW / 264 MWh makes it one of the larger battery storage contracts in the company’s order book and is expected to strengthen its presence in India’s growing energy storage sector.
