Dinesh Karthik said on Instagram, “In London, he (virat Kohli) was training during this big layoff that he’s had after a long time in his life,” and he included, “And I also know he was practising cricket regularly two to three sessions a week. That tells you the man is serious about wanting to play this World Cup,” Karthik added.
Dinesh Karthik revealed how hard Virat Kohli is working to play the 2027 World Cup during his long break after the IPL. Even before Virat and Rohit face their first ball in Australia after seven months in Indian colours, Karthik hinted that Kohli is determined to feature in the 2027 World Cup.
Rohit is currently ranked third in the ICC ODI rankings, while Kohli stands fifth. Together, they have accumulated close to 26,000 ODI runs. Although the next World Cup is two and a half years away by which time Rohit will be 40 and Kohli 39, age is just a number when performance and fitness remain high.
Veteran India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik believes that Virat Kohli is firmly committed to representing India at the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, backing the former captain to once again thrive under pressure.

Speaking on Instagram, Karthik mentioned that Virat practised two to three sessions per week in London to stay in touch with the game and to prepare well for the Australia tour, a step towards securing his place in the 2027 World Cup squad.
Kohli’s consistent training during the break is a clear indication of his intent and determination to remain at the top level and gear up for the next ODI World Cup, scheduled to be held in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe in 2027.
The BCCI chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, also stated that if Virat and Rohit want to play in the World Cup, they must participate in and perform well in domestic cricket. We’ve also seen how Rohit Sharma has maintained his fitness ahead of the Australia tour and in preparation for the World Cup.
