Corporation for Public Broadcasting votes to shut down as PBS, NPR lose federal backing

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has voted to dissolve after Congress withdrew federal funding, ending nearly 60 years of support for NPR, PBS and local public media stations across the United States.
