Synopsis: Aerolloy Technologies installs 4500T forging system in Lucknow for aerospace titanium, superalloys. Completes melt-cast-forge chain; cuts import reliance for aircraft engines, defence in UP corridor.

India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem gets a major upgrade as Aerolloy achieves a rare industrial milestone. Aerolloy Technologies Limited has completed the installation and successful trials of an advanced 4500/5100 Tonne Intelligent Open Die Forging System at its Strategic Materials Technology Complex in Lucknow. The achievement marks a significant step forward for India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing sector.

Aerolloy Technologies is a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, listed on Indian stock exchanges. PTC Industries shares closed at 14,985 down 3.95% on monday have seen attention from investors tracking India’s growing defence and aerospace manufacturing push, as the company continues to expand its capabilities through major capital investments at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.

What the New System Does

The forging system can work with Titanium, Superalloys, and a range of high-performance alloys. These materials produce critical parts for next-generation aircraft engines, defence platforms, space propulsion systems, and industrial gas turbines. Open die forging at this scale requires exceptional precision and materials expertise. Only a handful of companies globally possess this capability.

This installation completes what the company calls a rare industrial “trifecta.” Aerolloy already operates a Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) furnace for superalloy castings and a Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) 400 furnace for large titanium castings. With forging now added, the company offers a complete materials-to-component supply chain entirely under one roof.

“When we completed the trials of our VIM furnace and our VAR 400 furnace, we built the capability to produce some of the largest precision castings in the world,” said Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries. “With this forging press, we close the loop from melting and casting to forging in Titanium, Superalloys, and advanced high-performance alloys.”

He added: “Every ton forged here reduces India’s dependence on imported aerospace-grade forgings. We are building India’s long-term leadership in high-performance materials from Lucknow.”

Why This Matters for India

India has long depended on imports for aerospace-grade forged components. This facility directly addresses that gap. The system strengthens supply chain resilience and creates cost competitiveness for domestic and international customers. For global aircraft makers and tier-one suppliers, it offers a single trusted source for complex, critical materials.

The UP Defence Industrial Corridor, where the facility operates, aims to build a robust domestic defence manufacturing base. Aerolloy’s investment aligns closely with that goal.

A Growing Global Market

The global market for aerospace-grade forged Titanium and Superalloy components runs into billions of dollars annually. Demand continues to grow, driven by next-generation commercial aircraft engines, expanding defence programmes, and accelerating space exploration. Aerolloy now positions itself to compete for a meaningful share of this opportunity both in India and internationally.

PTC Industries has over six decades of experience in precision metal components and strategic materials. Through Aerolloy, the group serves aerospace, defence, and space applications worldwide. The company continues to invest in building a fully integrated advanced materials ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh.
