Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali has reportedly been arrested in England for his alleged involvement in a sexual molestation case, as confirmed by several credible sources. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded by suspending him immediately from all forms of cricket, pending the outcome of the investigation. 

Arrest in Manchester 

The incident reportedly took place on July 23, 2025, in Manchester, United Kingdom. Greater Manchester Police launched a probe after receiving a complaint related to sexual assault. Haider Ali, who was part of the Pakistan Shaheens (A-team) touring the UK, was arrested on August 4 in connection with the case. 

As per reports, the 24-year-old cricketer was taken into custody but later released on bail. While he has not yet been formally charged, investigations are still ongoing. The police have not officially confirmed his name, but sources close to the matter identified the player as Haider Ali. 

PCB Takes Immediate Action 

Following the news of his arrest, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued an official statement confirming that Haider Ali has been provisionally suspended. This means he cannot take part in any cricketing activity under the board’s jurisdiction until the case is resolved. 

“The PCB is aware of the incident involving Haider Ali. The matter is currently under investigation by the UK authorities. As a result, the PCB has provisionally suspended the player with immediate effect,” . 

The board also mentioned that it respects the legal process in the United Kingdom and will wait for the outcome of the investigation before taking any further action. Meanwhile, Haider Ali has reportedly been offered legal support by the PCB during this time.

Who is Haider Ali? 

Haider Ali is a right-handed batter who rose to fame with his aggressive stroke play and was once considered one of the brightest young talents in Pakistan cricket. He made his T20I debut in 2020 and has represented Pakistan in 35 T20Is and 2 ODIs to date. 

Despite a promising start to his career, Haider has struggled to cement his place in the national team and has been playing for the Pakistan “A” side in recent months. 

What Happens Next? 

As of now, Haider Ali remains under investigation. No formal charges have been filed, but UK authorities continue to collect evidence. If found guilty, he could face serious legal consequences, along with possible permanent suspension or ban from cricket under PCB’s code of conduct. 

Until the investigation concludes, his playing future remains uncertain.The legal proceedings are still in progress. Haider Ali is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
