Stock Market Live: Karnataka Bank Appoints New COO 

Karnataka Bank Ltd. has appointed Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat as chief operating officer effective July 2.

Meanwhile, Srikrishnan Hari Hara Sarma resigned from the post of managing director and chief executive officer with effect from July 15. Sekhar Rao resigned from the post of executive director with effect from July 31.

Oil Prices Fall As Geopolitical Tension Subsides

Oil future prices declined as geopolitical tension decreased following a peace between Iran and Israel. Brent crude’s benchmark August future contract was trading 0.84% down at $67.20 a barrel as of 7:37 a.m.

Oil prices delivered the steepest weekly decline in over two years in the week ended on June 27, Bloomberg reported.

Asia Market Wrap: Nikkei 225 Rises Over 1% As Industrial Production Increases 

Markets in Japan, Australia, and South Korea advanced on Monday morning. The Nikkei 225 jumped over 1% as industrial production rose in May.

Further, a progress on trade talks between the US and trading partners also supported Asian equities.

The Nikkei 225 and KOSPI were trading 1.61% and 0.69% higher, respectively. The S&P ASX 200 was 0.20% higher as of 7:20 a.m.

US Stock Market Update: S&P 500 And Nasdaq Composite Hit Record High 

On Friday, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indices hit a record high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index ended over 1% higher.

The S&P 500 ended 0.52% higher at 6,173.07, and the Nasdaq Composite ended 0.52% higher at 20,273.46. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1% higher at 43,819.27.

GIFT Nifty Implies Positive Open; Suzlon Energy, Tanla Platforms, Torrent Pharma In Focus

The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.11% or 29.50 points higher at 25,765 as of 6:46 a.m., which implied a positive start for the benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index.

Amber Enterprises Ltd, NLC Ltd., Suzlong Energy Ltd., Tanla Platforms Ltd., and Torrent Pharma Ltd. shares will be in focus due to business-related news over the weekend.

Indian benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Friday, led by share prices of Jio Financial Service Ltd. and Asian Paints Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 88.80 points, or 0.35% higher at 25,637.80, while the BSE Sensex closed 303.03 points, or 0.36% up at 84,058.90.
