Synopsis: Krishana Phoschem launches expanded DAP/NPK plant boosting capacity 50% to 4.95 lakh tonnes yearly. Adds sulphuric acid line; cuts India’s fertilizer imports with on-schedule ₹142 Cr project.

Krishana Phoschem Limited chas crossed a major milestone. The Madhya Pradesh-based fertilizer maker officially launched commercial production at its expanded DAP/NPK plant in Meghnagar on March 31, 2026. The move pushes the company into a stronger position in India’s complex fertilizer market.

Krishana Phoschem Limited’s stock, with a market capitalisation of Rs. 3,053 crores, rose Rs. 494.80, up 4.92 percent percent from its previous closing price of Rs. 470.65. Furthermore, the stock over the past year has given a negative return of 110 percent

What Exactly Changed

The new production line adds 1,65,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of DAP/NPK capacity. Total installed capacity now stands at 4,95,000 MTPA a 50% jump from the earlier 3,30,000 MTPA. The expansion also added a 99,000 MTPA sulphuric acid plant, taking that total to 3,63,000 MTPA.

The project cost ₹142 crore. Krishana Phoschem funded ₹75 crore through a term loan. The rest came from internal cash. Notably, the plant came online exactly on schedule.

Why This Matters for India

India still imports more than 50% of its complex fertilizer needs. Domestic capacity additions like this directly cut that gap. Krishana Phoschem sells across 11 states through 2,500+ dealers and 30,000+ retailers. Its brands Annadata and Bharat are well-known across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Furthermore, the company has already secured a long-term green ammonia supply of 70,000 MTPA, signalling a push toward cleaner production.

What Comes Next

This is the company’s second big DAP/NPK expansion. The first line came online in February 2023. Therefore, within just three years, Krishana Phoschem has added another 50% on top of that base. Management is now evaluating further acquisitions and product diversification. The expanded Meghnagar facility is among the larger integrated DAP/NPK complexes in the state and the company shows no signs of slowing down
