Synopsis: Ramkrishna Forgings launches new DISA FLEX 80 casting line producing 28,800 tonnes yearly. ₹249 Cr investment marks entry into automotive castings; becomes one-stop supplier.

Ramkrishna Forgings has taken a significant step forward. The company launched commercial production at its new Horizontal Casting Line on March 31, 2026. The move signals a bold push into the automotive casting market.

Share Price Movement

Ramkrishna Forgings Limited’s stock, with a market capitalisation of Rs. 8,975 crores, rose Rs. 503.50, up 7.9 percent percent from its previous closing price of Rs. 466.60. Furthermore, the stock over the past year has given a negative return of 36 percent.

A New Machine Enters the Floor

The new casting line carries the name DISA FLEX 80. It sits inside the company’s Plant VIII, located in Village Bholodih, Saraikela-Kharswan district, Jharkhand. The line can produce 28,800 metric tonnes per year. Before this, the company had zero casting capacity. Therefore, this marks a completely fresh entry into the casting business.

Ramkrishna Forgings invested ₹249 crore to build this facility. The company funded it through a mix of debt and internal cash flows. This approach kept the financing balanced. Furthermore, it shows the company’s confidence in the long-term demand for casting products.

Why Casting, and Why Now?

The company has a clear reason for entering this space. Ramkrishna Forgings wants to offer a complete range of products to its automotive customers. Until now, it focused mainly on forgings. However, casting is another major input that automakers need. By adding casting, the company becomes a one-stop supplier. This strengthens its value to existing customers. It also opens doors to new buyers in the casting segment.

What This Means Going Forward

The DISA FLEX 80 line meets customer quality standards and specific production requirements. The company has filed this disclosure under SEBI LODR Regulations, 2015, as required for listed firms. Meanwhile, full details are available on the company’s official website. As a result, investors and customers can track this capacity addition closely.

Ramkrishna Forgings has, in effect, redrawn its product map. The company is no longer just a forging player. It is now building a broader identity in the automotive components space  one casting at a time.
