Cameron Green became the third-most expensive buy in IPL auction history as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bid a whopping Rs 25.2 crore. He is also the most expensive foreigner ever.
KKR didn’t stop there as they bought Matheesha Pathirana for a staggering Rs 18 crore as well. Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi went to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 7 crore and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 7.2 crore respectively.

Cameron Green Third-Most Expensive Buy Ever
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for record-breaking Rs 25.2 crore after bidding war at the Indian Premier League (IPL) players’ auction 2026 in Abu Dhabi.
With this, Green joins the elite list of the most expensive buys in the history of the IPL tournament and the third most expensive IPL buy ever, behind Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer
Green was sold for Rs 25.2 crore, but according to the new rule, overseas players cannot receive more than the team’s highest retainership price of Rs 18 crore. Therefore, Green will also receive only Rs 18 crore.
