Asia Markets LIVE: Japan’s Nikkei 225 Falls Over 2%
Japan’s benchmark index, the Nikkei 225 fell over 2% on Friday as market participants braced themselves for the stimulus package announcement from the Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
The Nikkei 225 was trading 1.76% down at 48,942 as of 6:53 a.m.
Japan’s 10-year government retreated from multi-year high in early trade. It was trading 1.79% as of 6:54 a.m. compared to 1.82% close level in the previous session.

The GIFT Nifty was trading flat at 26,157, which implied 64 points lower open for the NSE Nifty 50 index.
Traders will keep an eye on Hyundai Motor India Ltd., JSW Energy Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd. shares will be in focus because of the overnight newsflow.
The Nifty 50 convincingly pierced key resistance levels and steadily inched towards record highs. It closed 0.54% or 139.50 points higher at 26,192.15. The Sensex gained 0.52% or 446.21 to settle at 85,632.68.
